Our SERVICES

Recording, mixing, mastering and more

Mac Monitor

We'll record your band. We'll mix your band. But we do more than most studios.

We'll work with you to develop your songs and your sound - if you want us to. We'll come to your rehearsal space and gigs before you record with us, to figure out the best way to get the best out of you.

We'll make you sound better than you thought you could.

And we'll make your recordings sound like a proper record.

Mixing

If you read the sleeve notes of your favourite CDs, you'll often see they were mixed somewhere different from where they were recorded - and mixed by someone new.

It means you get a fresh pair of ears and a different sounding room - adding a new dimension to your recordings.

Bring us your files, and we'l make your songs sound better than you thought they could. Doesn't matter if you recorded in another studio or at home - in our control room, we guarantee you'll sound better.

Mastering

Want your recording to sounds like a record? Then it needs mastering!

We offer a complete ‘radio-ready’ mastering service, which will turn your songs into the finished article.

And you don’t have to have recorded here to have your songs mastered by our experts - just send us your files.

What is mastering?

Mastering is the final step in the production of an album or single. It’s a vital process that ensures maximum impact on the end listener.

It’s not just about an individual song – it’s about the overall consistency and continuity from track to track, to achieve a smooth flowing, level-matched CD.

The main objective is to achieve optimum sound quality and level for the project. The mastering engineer has many options available including equalizers, dynamics processors and stereo enhancers.

We can also edit, add fade outs (best done at the mastering stage) and anything else necessary.

How long does it take?

For singles and EPs you should allow at least one hour per song. An album will usually take at least a day, maybe two. This is only a guide – and the addition of music editing, crosses fading etc will extend the time required.

What does it cost?

Mastering typically costs around £100 a day, but ask us about your requirements first…..
